Lily Abbot is one of the silent jurors on a climatic and highly
publicized case. She does not pass judgement before all information is
presented, however her opinion is hard to be swayed after her conclusions are
made. She is an intellectual, gains her knowledge from her various studies
(majoring in philosophy, psychology and justice), research papers, third world
travel ventures and her treasured hobby - reading. She is self employed writer;
fictional novelist and a poet primarily, however also completed few research
and thesis papers as part of her studies. She spends vast amounts of time
sprawled across comfortable furnishings, writing, reading and pondering. She
would be described as an independent introvert. Lily generally keeps to
herself, and prefers not to be caught up in modern day political or
technological worries, that in her opinion are like an illness that so many
others suffer from. Her ambition is to be as self efficient as possible;
growing her own fruit and vegetables, riding a bicycle and is highly interested
in renewable energies/efficiency. Limited guests enter Lily’s home except the
odd family member, usually for a short period where they spend their talking,
over a cup of tea, the issues with the world; policy, technology and the need
to be green. She is a hoarder, and requires ample space to store her belongings
gathered over a life time, along with her beloved book collection. Social
situations are awkward and make her very uncomfortable, it is a factor that
spikes her anxiety and the need to mentally and physically escape – usually she
finds the escape physically at home and mentally in a book. Most likely she has
developed these character traits from her experiences as a young girl with
alcoholic parents and no siblings; she learnt at a very young age not to rely
on others and not to be wasteful. If she could ‘save the world’ her catch
phrase would be “read a little more, learn a little more, and love a little
more”. Architecturally Lily is interested in the way light enters a space, or
the focal points of ‘holes’ in a building’s fabric that directs an inhibitors
attention or inattention to something.
